Field Ecology and Conservation Botany Internships

Pacific Biodiversity Institute is seeking interns to assist with field ecology and conservation botany surveys in various locations in Washington State during the 2008 field season (March-November). The opportunity also exists to continue an internship at our office during the up-coming winter and learn other aspects of conservation science.

Project Description

We are conducting a variety of surveys to gather data on ecological condition, native vegetation types, non-native and native plant species and rare plant occurrences at various locations in the states of Washington and Oregon.

Location

Interns will work out of the Pacific Biodiversity Institute headquarters office in Winthrop, Washington.  Travel will be required to various remote locations in other parts of the state for up to 10 days at a time.  During field excursions camping will be necessary at the location of the field work.

Duration: at least 3 full months during the field season (March-November)

Compensation: housing and an expense stipend of $200 to $500 per month depending on financial need and experience
