Job Announcement: Botanist / Ecologist
Pacific Biodiversity Institute is searching for a botanist or ecologist familiar with Pacific Northwest plants and ecosystems to assist in conducting surveys and mapping of rare plants, native and non-native plants and overall vegetation characteristics.
Pacific Biodiversity Institute is a non-profit scientific and educational organization focused on conservation science and biodiversity conservation. We conduct research and education as well as provide scientific and technical support to public agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit conservation organizations. We have projects in the Pacific Northwest and other Western States and periodically engage in international projects. Much of our work focuses on ecological assessments and vegetation surveys. This position will focus on conducting surveys for rare plants, native and non-native vascular species, general vegetation characteristics, and ecological conditions. During the 2007-2008 field seasons, we are seeking a field botanist and/or ecologist to assist us. The position has the potential for conversion to a more permanent status.
Location:
This position will primarily be assigned to field locations in eastern Washington and the western Cascades of Washington State. Also, some time will be spent working out of our office in Winthrop, Washington.
