Torre Stockard
Torre Stockard is a research biologist with a BA in Biochemistry from Cornell University and a PhD in Marine Biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Her eclectic career has ventured into the realms of immunology, tuna swimming biomechanics, and diving physiology of marine mammals and penguins. Various jobs have taken her to the top of the Greenland ice sheet, six field seasons in Antarctica studying emperor penguins, and (while at National Geographic) to the world of live web video to promote conservation. Currently, she is working on salmon recovery in the Methow sub-basin, is an active board member of the North Central Washington Audubon Society, and is assisting PBI with our harbor porpoise research.

Vicky Welch
Vicky is an organic farmer in the Methow Valley. She has represented agricultural interests and stewardship of the land for over 40 years. Her unflagging effort to protect farmland and wildlife habitat in the valley has resulted in protective zoning and more controlled development than could have been possible without her. She has served on the board of directors of the Methow Valley Citizen's Council and the Methow Conservancy for many years and has been active in many other community and environmental organizations. She has extensive experience with many aspects of conservation and other environmental issues. Vicky was one of the founding board members of PBI and served for many years on our board of directors. Vicky has a Masters in Asian Studies.
